Center Stage with Alyssa Portillo

Meet Alyssa Portillo! In our sixth edition of Avant Garde Theatre of Dance's Center Stage, we present to you Miss Alyssa Portillo. Alyssa is a competitive dancer in the Apprentice Program here at Avant Garde Theatre of Dance. This second grader is so sweet and such hard worker. She currently takes Intermediate Ballet 2 days per week, Intermediate Contemporary 1 day, and Intermediate Jazz 1 day per week.  "She is always happy, an extremely hard worker, and she is definitely a very bright young dancer," says Miss Sarah. Alyssa is a Blogger.  Her mom told us “she loves to make random videos and even TikToks.  You can always find here recording everything!” When we asked what her favorite class was at Avant Garde Theatre of Dance, without hesitation she said, "Jazz…. Meet Genesis Hernandez! We are so proud to present to you our fifth edition of Avant Garde Theatre of Dance's Center Stage! This week, we get to know a little more about that little girl we posted month's ago on our Page. If you don't remember, maybe the photo below will ring a bell?  Miss Genesis was the very first student that we ever posted on our Facebook page, she was the first student to sign up at Avant Garde Theatre of Dance, and she is still so very excited and happy every single day we see her for class! Genesis is a competitive dancer in the Apprentice Program here at Avant Garde Theatre of Dance.  This first grader is such a hard worker and she is hyper focused in every class she takes. Today, we want to center the attention on a group of individuals who volunteer their time and energy to help us  reach our goals. Center Stage with Adleigh Eversole

In our fourth edition of Avant Garde Theatre of Dance's Center Stage, we present to you Miss Adleigh Eversole. This third grader is a competitive dancer in the Apprentice Program at Avant Garde Theatre of Dance. Adleigh takes classes 4 days per week, she is training in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Acro and Hip Hop! She was extremely excited to let us know, her favorite class is Jazz! "She is a very enthusiastic, joyful and intelligent young dancer. She’s always wanting to learn more!" says Miss Sarah. Adleigh has a “huge” white lab named Bandit; which made us giggle at the emphasis on HUGE! We asked Adleigh, "When you’re not running around with your awesome giant Bandit, why do you love coming to Avant Garde?" She quickly replied, "Because the teachers are very nice and helpful!"  Adleigh mentioned what excites her most about competition, “Everything.
