Center Stage with Erica Metcalfe

Meet Erica Metcalfe!

In our third edition of Avant Garde Theatre of Dance's Center Stage, we present to you Miss Erica Metcalfe.

Erica is one of our first Apprentices to join our Competitive Program here at Avant Garde Theatre of Dance. She is currently in the fifth grade and 10 years old. Erica has 2 brothers and a Chihuahua puppy named Scooter that she loves. She takes Intermediate Ballet twice per week, then Contemporary and Jazz once per week.

"Erica is extremely intelligent, naturally gifted, and has great natural flexibility. She always comes into class ready to work and retains all of the information given to her by her instructors," says Miss Sarah.

We asked Erica what it was about Avant Garde Theatre of Dance that she loved so much and she said "Because we learn new things, have fun, and I can make new friends!"

Erica says she is beyond excited to be a member of the Apprentice Team at Avant Garde. She said that her favorite part about being on the team is "it will challenge me. I get to be in front of people and maybe I'll win a trophy!"

Erica has a lot of friends at Avant Garde and is always open to making new ones!

We asked Erica what she thought about Miss Sarah, our Artistic Director and Competition Choreographer, and she said "She is the best teacher, she will always help you and make sure you understand what we are learning."

As we can see, Miss Erica is very competitive and we know she won't stop until she's on stage competing and winning a trophy. However, we had to ask Miss Erica how hard she was going to work and she replied, "Sooooo Hard, and I will never give up!"

  Meet Jillian Diaz! In our tenth edition of Avant Garde Theatre of Dance's Center Stage, we present to you Miss Jillian Diaz. Jillian is a competitive dancer in the Apprentice Program at Avant Garde  Theatre of Dance.  This fifth grader is not new to dance. Center Stage with Genesis Hernandez

Meet Genesis Hernandez! We are so proud to present to you our fifth edition of Avant Garde Theatre of Dance's Center Stage! This week, we get to know a little more about that little girl we posted month's ago on our Page. If you don't remember, maybe the photo below will ring a bell?  Miss Genesis was the very first student that we ever posted on our Facebook page, she was the first student to sign up at Avant Garde Theatre of Dance, and she is still so very excited and happy every single day we see her for class! Genesis is a competitive dancer in the Apprentice Program here at Avant Garde Theatre of Dance.  This first grader is such a hard worker and she is hyper focused in every class she takes.
